• Do I have to turn on Last-Mile Encrypted Texting? (iPhone users only)

  Do I have to turn on Last-Mile Encrypted Texting? (iPhone users only)

  No, it's completely optional. However, we highly recommend turning it on. Without Last-Mile Encryption, group chats in your iPhone's Messages app that include Android members may become de-threaded, meaning messages are sent or received individually instead of as part of the group thread.

  We are working towards a long-term solution, but for now we recommend enabling Last-Mile Encryption to ensure your group chats work as expected. Last-Mile Encryption also keeps your SMS and MMS messages more secure. iMessages are not impacted as those are already end-to-end encrypted.

  Yes. Cape’s Secure Global Roaming is available in over 50 countries. Cape subscribers get 5GB per month of secure home-routed data, meaning all your mobile traffic while you’re traveling abroad is routed back to Cape’s core, rather than a foreign telco.   You can bring your own device! Cape works with most recent, eSIM compatible, iPhones and Androids. If your device isn’t compatible, you can buy a new Google Pixel device from our online store, and get $500 off your Cape subscription, bringing your monthly bill to just $15 for your first 6 months. Additionally, for just $50, we’ll install GrapehenOS for you so you can start with a fully configured, secure device right out of the box

  For individuals with elevated threat profiles, Cape Obscura comes with a pre-configured Android phone.

• How do private payments work?

  How do private payments work?

  When you pay for your Cape plan, we don't ask for your name or address (because we're committed to data minimization), and we don't store your full credit card number (or other payment method) or expiry in our system. Instead, we intentionally segregate customer data between our payment gateway, Stripe, and Cape’s internal business systems. Learn more.

  Cape offers subscribers unlimited 5G and 4G data. After 50GB of data usage, we may temporarily slow data speeds to 256 kbps.

  Cape phone numbers, including our Secondary Numbers, are real mobile phone numbers—not VoIP numbers—so they work just like you're used to (though note that for now, Cape Secondary Numbers are an experimental feature and are SMS/MMS only). You can also bring your existing number with you by porting it in. Most users experience a smooth, hassle-free transition, and our team is here to help if anything comes up.
