Cape officially launched our open beta on March 18, 2025. Since then, we’ve learned a lot—thanks in large part to the feedback and conversations we’ve had with our early users. One thing that stood out right away: many of our beta testers are GrapheneOS users.
For those unfamiliar, GrapheneOS is an open-source, privacy- and security-focused mobile operating system based on the Android Open Source Project. It’s designed to give users strong control over their data, harden security at the OS level, and minimize exposure to common mobile threats. GrapheneOS is widely regarded as one of the most robust privacy tools available for everyday smartphones.
Cape’s mission is to give people a secure, transparent, and privacy-respecting mobile network, which aligns with the GrapheneOS project. Both exist to protect people from surveillance and exploitation, without sacrificing usability.
Our Commitment
We believe in supporting the ecosystem that our customers rely on. That’s why, over the next year, we’re committing to donate the entire first month of each Cape subscription by GrapheneOS users. These funds go directly toward helping the GrapheneOS team continue their independent development and keep their project sustainable.
If you’re interested in setting up GrapheneOS on your own device, the official installation instructions are available here. For those in the market for a new phone, Cape makes the process even easier:
- $500 off your Cape subscription, bringing your monthly bill to just $15 for your first 6 months
- GrapheneOS installation support: For just $50, we’ll set it up for you so you can start with a fully configured, secure device right out of the box
You can browse our available devices here.
Cape exists because people deserve better options for mobile privacy and security. By supporting GrapheneOS, we hope to continue strengthening the privacy community as a whole. If you share our vision, join us, and know that your subscription helps fund tools that keep you safer.
