RESEARCH PARTNERS

Cape leads cutting‑edge privacy and security research within cellular, application and network layer technologies, alongside world‑class private and public research institutions.

OUR RESEARCH AREAS

  • Cellular Network Security

Cape has run proofs of concept to obfuscate our customers’ personal data on our network. We are continuing to study a range of technologies to reduce, blind ourselves to, or disaggregate subscriber information.

  • Device & Subscriber Anonymity

Cape has successfully leveraged location masking technology that addresses radio wave-based direction finding. We are also studying the use of blinded tokens and zero-knowledge proofs to disaggregate subscriber information.

  • Mobile Network Resilience

We are researching and testing alternatives that provide redundancy to traditional cell towers. This includes device-to-device mesh networks, 5G non-terrestrial networks, and other unconventional mobile communication systems.

  • Emerging Tech &
Threat Analysis

As the global telecom system evolves with the adoption of innovative technologies such as non-terrestrial networks, 5G Sidelink, and Open Radio Access Networks, our team is at the forefront of analyzing the use of these technologies. We aim to advance privacy, security, and resilience while managing the accompanying vulnerabilities inherent to nascent technologies.
